Update 3/16/14 - Staree is changing and becoming something called
“Purple Ticket.” Not sure what this means yet, but I’ll do an updated
review after I learn more.
Most of us who use social media
share our pictures and things all the time. Through Staree you can
actually earn a little money doing this. Staree is a property of Izea — the company behind Social Spark, Sponsored Tweets,
and several other online money-making things. The site launched last
year and appears to still be hopping along, so I dug a little deeper so I
could explain to you how it works.
How do you earn money?
After
you’ve connected your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts to Staree,
you’ll earn a little money per click of each picture or video you upload
and share. You can easily upload the photos through your desktop
computer or a mobile device with the Staree app installed. Staree places
display advertising on your photos and videos. There are also
opportunities to earn money with product placement inside your pics.
What is the earning potential?
This
will definitely depend on your social media following. The more Twitter
followers and Facebook friends you have that actually interact with the
media you upload, the more you’ll probably earn. There are a lot of
celebrities that are using Staree and earning money. I would guess they
are earning a lot seeing as how most of them have hundreds of thousands
of followers online. Will you earn as much as them? Probably not. Will
you earn enough to pocket some extra cash here and there? Maybe you will
if you interact with your followers often and share lots of media with
them. However don’t spam them with things. No one likes that and it will
actually hurt your efforts.
How can you sign up?
Just visit Staree
and connect your social media accounts. You’ll notice that the Facebook
app asks for some permissions you might not be OK with allowing. You
can opt out of those if you want — I did by just clicking the “X” button
next to each one.
