YouData is a site I participate in from time to time. You won’t get rich with it, but you will get some small change. The site has been around for a few years now, and the idea behind is basically getting paid for your attention. YouData claims that advertisers take advantage of your attention all the time by shoving commercials and ads in our faces everywhere — on billboards, online, in magazines, on TV, you name it — and they do this without paying us. With YouData, the advertisers are paying you for your attention instead. Granted not much, but hey, money is money! Here’s how it works:
  1. Sign up for an account and fill out your “Me File.” This is basically just a survey about the things you like, don’t like, products you use, and so on. It’s supposed to help YouData match you to advertisers.
  2. Log in daily and check your Adget, which is a 5-stack unit with ads you can click and view. Each ad pays differently, and you’ll get the cash for doing nothing more than clicking the ad to jump to the related website. Please don’t just click to the website and then leave — remember that these advertisers are paying for your attention, so be nice and take a minute to browse around even if you’re not terribly interested in what they have to offer.
  3. Get paid at the end of the week. That’s right, YouData sends you your earnings faithfully every Friday via Paypal. They have to date not missed a payment to me!
  4. Refer your friends. Know anyone else who would like doing this in their spare time? Refer them using your unique referral link and you’ll earn 100 percent of what they earn up to $1, which is essentially the same as being paid $1 per referral (assuming that the people you refer actually ever earn that much).
This is definitely extra small change only. If anyone tries to tell you otherwise, don’t believe it. I’ve been doing it for about a year and a half now and have yet to break the bank. Each ad you click to view might pay anywhere between five and fifteen cents, and also there aren’t always ads available for you to look at. To make the most of YouData, I would recommend logging in every day at least once to check for ads. Sometimes I have them and sometimes I don’t. Regardless, I still enjoy getting the money in my Paypal account every Friday. I don’t even care that it’s not very much. It only takes a few seconds to check your YouData adget, and money is money and all adds up over time.
